Ever thought about trying some traditional “Hard Cider?” Then stay with us and drive over to Old Hill Hard Cider “cidery” at Showalter’s Orchard (15 minutes away) in Timberville and taste their delicious hard cider during the first “Virginia Cider Week” the week before Thanksgiving.  Old Hill Hard Cider is one of only six “cideries” in the state. Annette Boyd, director of the Virginia Wine Board Marketing office says that “Virginia has a very strong heritage in cider, but it all died during Prohibition.  It’s just now coming back.” So go ahead, be brave, and try some.  We did, and it’s delicious.
